This is a remarkable story of a kitten as close to death as I have ever seen!  On a hot fall day, he was under a horse fence with a buzzard waiting for him to die.  I picked him up and he was totally blind, eaten up with fleas and so sick his head fell backwards!  I really did not think he would make it till morning.  His ears were so full of black that he could not hear.  I would work on him a little each day and watch him get better, but never expected him to see!  He is now the devil in disguise!  Very feisty and playful and very chunky!  He is truly a fighter and needs a home where he is appreciated!  The following pictures show him a few days after I got him and the black is his ears!  Gomer is almost like a real wild cat in his mannerisms.  This is probably the survival instinct that kept him alive.  He would make a great barn cat or indoor-outdoor cat.
