Indie came to us through an urgent Facebook post on July fourth weekend. She had wandered into a yard near Greenwood, but way out in the country. She was so emaciated, it was a miracle she was alive. When I picked her up that night, I wasn't sure she would make it much longer. The next day at the vet, we ran numerous blood tests and for the most part, she was fine, but starving to death. She only weighed 3 pounds. For about 3 weeks, I confined her to a crate and just fed her kitten food, both canned and dry. When she had gained a few pounds, we had her spayed. Now, she is doing great. She loves to be held and petted, but is a dominant female and gets along better with male cats. She doesn't tolerate any non-sense. I think she ould be OK with older kids and quiet dogs, but not a high energy , loud household. Indie's new family will need to be devoted to making the rest of her life heaven, because she has already been through hell.
